Coronary Care Unit and Glyder Ward

Fundraising for Coronary Care Unit and Glyder Ward

Having been in their good care after having a heart attack in October 2013 before being transferred to Liverpool Broadgreen Heart and Chest Hospital for six coronary heart grafts: I have decided to collect money through fundraising for equipment that will improve the comfort and wellbeing of the patients and staff on these wards as a small token of my appreciation for their hard work and dedication. The fundraising is being supported by the Hospital charity Awyr Las / Blue Sky (registered charity 1138976) https://www.justgiving.com/Bill-Morris1

During my unplanned thirty day stay in Hospital I met many good people who I will never forget; I left their care at the end of October 2013 but I found sleep difficult as the events I had experienced in the days I had spent in Hospital were going through my head constantly: a retired nurse who I met through my work suggested that I put pen to paper and write it all down and if I did that she would buy a copy from me: this is how the book “My Little Event” came to being.

Not wanting to profit personally from the book I decided to do some good by using it raise funds.

My sleeping has improved since writing the book; the advice she gave me was very good.

Charity "Cardiac Open" Golf Competition 2016

The 2016 Cardiac Golf Open will be held at Betws-y-Coed Golf Club on June 11th 2016. Last year more than £800 was raised from this event and it was well supported from golfers. This year it is hoped to have a competition for ladies on the same day with a few tee times reserved in the middle of the day for their own competition which will allow visiting golfers and members to bring their wives; the men's tee times will be in the morning/afternoon. Last years prizes were kindly donated by local businesses and their contribution was a large part of the events success. This years prizes will be announced on social media as well as this webpage as they become known. There will be eleven main prizes with some being competed for by both the men and ladies (nearest the pin/accurate drive) and separate main prizes for the men/ladies. Entry fee is £20 per person

Book Reviews

What impressed me was it was clearly written from the heart which is even more interesting as it was your heart problem that hospitalised you in the first place! It was touching to read about the affection you had for the nurses, they are the unsung heroes of the NHS, and often their work is not appreciated.

I’ve just finished reading the book and it was amazing! It really made me think. Take care and a BIG thank you for doing such a positive thing as writing a book. You are an inspiration to others.

It’s a beautifully written book and pardon the pun but evidently written from the heart. I am so pleased you are making a full recovery. I feel truly honoured to have been mentioned in your book.
